Event Description

TIPES and the Military Family Resource Center of the National Capital Region have joined forces to address the stigma on mental health. Through our New Insights into Mental Health Conference we are bringing Dr. Douglas Turkington and Helen Spencer from the United Kingdom to offer training to professionals, families, friends and front line workers on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

The conference will occur over five days from Monday, October 7th to Friday, October 11th, 2019 and consists of three workshops: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - PTSD & Anxiety Disorders, Informed CBT Training for Caregivers, and using CBT for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through roleplay, lectures and open floor discussions, attendees will learn how to provide CBT and support those with mental health challenges.
